I mentioned a giant weird bee I tried to snap. The pictures don’t give you the scale, but it was as big around as a quarter. Very odd.

I’m heading out to Cincinnati to present a paper. Yeah, I know – fun times! I have some nostalgia for Cincy – the first gay bar I ever went to was there. Skyline Chili has more vegetarian options (which they didn’t have when I was growing up), so I am so on that, too!
Speaking of gay nostalgia, Calpernia will be at Denver Pride this weekend, so look for us!

Since my term on the Outfest Board of Directors doesn’t start until September, I get all the perks of being a board member without the responsibilities. So I was out glad-handing at the Outfest launch party last night at new Hollywood hotspot The Kress. It lives up to its hype, too – it’s really lovely inside. We’ll see what it turns into once it’s open to the public.
Brian Putnam of Putnam Photography was on hand to snap a few excellent photos, including the one above. I recommend him for any event or photo op you need.
